Football legend Pelé is to send all his awards and memorabilia to auction in London.

The collection could realise £5m and anticipation is high that the event could be the biggest sports auction.

Pharol, the company formerly known as Portugal Telecom,* managed to lose €65.9 million in the first quarter of the year, 53% more than in the same period last year, according to its accounts that can be found on the CMVM Stock Market Regulator’s website.

The car maker Volkswagen has seen its profits plummet by 20% in the wake of its diesel emissions scandal.

It recorded a pre-tax profit of €3.2 billion in the three months to March but this was down from nearly €4 billion the previous year.
