Santa and Mrs Claus paid their annual visit to Estoi Casa do Povo to assist in the distribution of the food packs provided by the Faro Food Bank. The Rotary Club of Estoi Palace International was fortunate to have received many donations during the year of toys enabling us to give all the children registered with the food bank an extra Christmas present.
RCEPI has provided additional long life milk to supplement the monthly Food Bank parcels distributed to those registered with the Banco Alimentar in Faro for 10 years and to date has supplied over 50.000 litres of milk. Local businesses also donated extra items, bread, fruit, chocolate santas and the traditional Bolo Rei cake to make Christmas a little happier for these underprivileged families.
The second annual Christmas Party for the children of families registered with Faro Food Bank took place on Friday 14th of December at Moncarapacho Casa do Povo. Father Christmas visited to hand out chocolate coins and gifts to the children, who then tucked into sandwiches and drinks laid on by the Club. A local face painter was on hand to give the children a “new look”. A very good time was had by all.
Father Christmas returned to the Estoi Casa do Povo on Sunday the 16th of December to distribute chocolate coins and gifts to the children there whose families are registered with the Faro Banco Alimentar. Entertainment was on hand with folklore dancing and face painting. The Club also provided sandwiches and drinks for all those attending. As in past years, RCEPI supplied the event with goodies, cakes and drinks and President Bruno Sousa Costa and Chair of Community Service Maria Jose Pires were there to give Pai Natal a helping hand.
