ASB Ride to the cool West coast

David Shirley of ASBThe ASB members made a good decision by taking advantage of the cooler weather and a refreshing breeze on the west coast of the Algarve for their July ride, making a very enjoyable day out after the recent heat wave.

A variety of roads from main roads to narrow lanes took them from the meeting point in Lagoa to the restaurant Fonte do Vale in Vale de Telha near Aljezur.

An excellent lunch on our first visit to this restaurant was enjoyed by all.

The route was interesting with some nice views. Firstly heading towards Monchique before going west to Casais and down the valley to the Autodromo, for refreshments at the Kartodrome cafe. Then over to Bensafrim and down the Pincho valley and up along Barragem Bravura towards Marmelete and Aljuzer on the way to the lunch venue.

There were two groups. The first one led by Philippe Payen on his BMW 1650 and the second one by David Shirley riding a Honda Forza NS 350s.

Information about joining the Algarve Senior Bikers can be found on their website, www.algarveseniorbikers.com.
