The first ride of 2023 for the Algarve Senior Bikers was well attended, with over 40 riders taking part including several new members.
Although it was a somewhat chilly start in Boliqueime, by the time of the break for coffee in the pretty village of Querenca at Rosa's cafe the sun had worked it's magic and the temperature had risen to a more pleasant 15 c.
It was a beautiful clear day and the views from the hills North of Salir were spectacular.
After coffee, the two groups of riders headed west via Benafim and S.B. Messines to enjoy a very nice traditional Portuguese lunch, provided by Maria and the staff at restaurant Casa de Vinho in Vale Fuzeiros.
Lead riders on this occasion were Alain Balouzet and David Shirley.
NEXT RIDE: February 23rd
Meet at 9.45 am at Sao Marcos de Serra. A ride through the hills to Ameixial before going south via the N2, for lunch at Restaurant Casa Lagosteira in Olhos d'Agua.
