ASB July ride to Almograve, on the Algarve west coast

ASB JULY RIDE TO ALMOGRAVE, ON THE ALGARVE WEST COASTFor one of the longer rides of this year the Algarve Senior Bikers met earlier than usual at São Marcos de Serra, this allowed their arrival in the cooler temperatures of the west shortly after a pause for refreshments and any necessary refueling in Colos.

Lunch at Restaurant Mar Azul Those attending were divided into three groups led by organisers Philippe Payen, Eric Desurvire and Andrew Chilton.  They were assisted by Leo Laurense, Phill Anderson and David Shirley.

There was a little confusion at one point on the way to Colos, when the third group passed the second group going in the opposite direction! However, eventually all arrived safely together at the café in Colos.

The route was through Cercal and Vila Nova de Milfontes to Restaurant Mar Azul in Almograve, for an Indian curry lunch.

After lunch the ride continued back south on the west coast with a visit to the lighthouse at Cabo Sardão for a group photo.

Then it was a hot ride back to home territory in the Algarve. The ride finished in Marmelete with another chance of cold drink before

the riders went their separate ways home. Another great day out with some spectacular scenery both inland and on the coast.
