Busy July for Algarve Senior Bikers

Brian (5th gear) Evans and daughter Jayne visiting from Australia, and riding pillion on his new Honda CBR 500ASB members started July with a cool visit to the World Superbike racing at the Autodromo do Algarve on a chilly showery weekend at the beginning of the month. The changing weather conditions made for some exciting racing.

Then there was the Moto Clube of Faro Concentration with the thousands of bikers from all over Europe.  Many ASB members attended this annual event with the spectacular closing parade through Faro on Sunday the 20th.

Next up was the usual ASB monthly ride. This time organised by Brian (5th gear) Evans, who had the help of his daughter Jayne visiting from Australia, and riding pillion on his new Honda CBR 500. Jayne also acted as photographer for the day.

The ride started from, and ended, with lunch near São Brás de Alportel and the route through the mountains above Santa Catarina gave those taking part some fantastic distant views of the Algarve coastline.
Weather had returned to normal with riders coping with temperatures of 37c in the hills, but the superb quiet twisty roads made it worth the effort.

It was good to see regular rider Peter Moseley at the lunch venue, and well on the way to a full recovery and being able to ride again following his recent surgery.
