A visit to the Quinta do Morgado da Torre, in the Penina area – what a perfect way to spend an afternoon!
That’s what a group of Marks & Morelli clients and friends did, gathering to learn and listen to Carla Mendes explain the history of this family-run business – which started operating in 1998 and has become a reference in quality gastronomic wines in the Algarve.
Visiting the cool Adega and processing areas was the highlight of the visit, personalized by Carla’s interesting and knowledgeable explanation of the process of wine making – from the choice of grapes (castas) to the final product. The group had plenty of questions and became quite lively – especially at the final wine tasting of three varieties which complemented the guided tour.
Afterwards, a visit to the shop was a bonus. The shop is well-stocked with, not only the Quinta’s wines, but a variety of local products – and people left happy with bags of goodies. Thank you so much, Carla!
