Quinta dos Vales welcomed over 3,500 visitors on Sunday 5th October, in the Estombar estate, and rated the event as a great success. They were able to easily cope with such a large amount of visitors because they
integrated the newly-built “Cave de Bacchus” for the first time as one of the premises. “Cave de Bacchus” has underground storage for ageing 200.000+ bottles of red wines, as well as ample space on the ground level for all kinds of activities.
Exhibitor stalls, workshops and live painting were “stretched” along the 500m walkways from the winery and sculpture garden to “Cave de Bacchus”, close to the goat and deer area. Traffic was handled perfectly with the very helpful Lagoa GNR and, last but not least, the 500+ new parking spaces at the estate near "Cave de Bacchus".
Wine sales were spectacular and they have never before sold as much wine on a single day, especially the premium wines. Interestingly, the wines found quite a high percentage of Portuguese buyers this time around,
particularly in the wines which were awarded “The Best Wine of the Algarve” in 2010, 2013 and 2014.
Owner and manager Karl Heinz Stock said: “No doubt that we are on the right track. The Algarvian wines have firmly set their mark on the Portuguese wine map and I am proud that I and my highly motivated team are part of this momentum. Drink and eat local! We post regularly on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/QuintaDosVales.Vinho.e.Arte”.
Quinta dos Vales' next Open Door event will be on 5th April 2015, the first Sunday in April as always.
