VILA VITA Parc is honoured to have won Portugal’s Leading Green Hotel Award at the well-respected 2015 World Travel Awards that took place on 5th September in Sardinia. Recognised and voted for by travel and tourism professionals worldwide this accolade recognises the hotel’s ongoing commitment to excellence in sustainability and luxury.
As the Algarve’s leading luxury resort, VILA VITA Parc prides itself on its sustainable policy, encouraging partnerships with local businesses, whilst still maintaining the finest luxury dining, wellness and product offering.
Foodie lovers will be delighted by the resorts unrivalled organic culinary offering from home reared meat to olive oil, fresh compotes and flavoursome jams. The entire meat production process is managed by VILA VITA Parc and Herdade dos Grous, from raising the free range animals to transportation of the meat in VILA VITA Parc’s own refrigerated vans to master butcher, Thomas Weber in Porches. With Thomas’s expertise he oversees the process guaranteeing quality and food safety from start to finish. The meat is then cut and processed avoiding any artificial additives or conservatives and sold at the German Butchers, the Metzgerei next door to VILA VITA Parc’s Biergarten. As well as meat, the Metzgerei also sells other organic products from Herdade dos Grous, including the wine for which it is most known.
VILA VITA Parc ensures that every aspect of sustainability is thought of whether it is the Portuguese hand-made linens in the rooms, the terry bathroom towels, the Claus Porto bathroom amenities or the local Porches pottery. The resort always strives to endorse the use of local crafts and products, thus providing the true Portuguese identity to the resort that VILA VITA Parc is known for.
VILA VITA Parc is delighted to be recognized as being ‘greener than ever’. This is evident not only through winning Portugal’s Leading Green Hotel Award but also by receiving the seal of quality certification from TÜV Rheinland, recognising it as an ‘eco-hotel’ and furthermore winning the Boa Cama Sustainability platinum prize, the Chave de Platina 2015 (recognizing rational water consumption, energy saving and residue management).
