The Two Michelin-starred Ocean Restaurant at Vila Vita Parc has been included in the prestigious list of the Best of the World: an independent and transparent amalgamation of the very best gastronomy rankings around the world.
The idea originated from Laurent Fabius, French Minister of Foreign Affairs: to create the ultimate list of the 1000 best restaurants in the world, without concessions, restrictions or deviations. Thousands of chefs worldwide were contacted, to anonymously evaluate the key restaurant guides in their own countries. The most respected sources were consulted and cross-checked, including the Guide Michelin, World 50 Best, Winespectator, Foursquare, TripAdvisor, Guia Boa Cama, Boa Mesa, Guia Repsol, Lo Mejor de la Gastronomia, Google Reviews, Zomato, Andyhayler.com, Yelp amongst others.

What sets it apart is the fact that it rises above judgement based on specific gastronomic cultures, and is not subject to the limitations of individual guides or other terms and conditions which tend to influence these rankings. There are restaurants from all corners of the world, seven of which are in Portugal. Ocean, headed by Chef Hans Neuner, is in the 76th position of 1000, which confirms it as one of the most distinctive restaurants in Portugal, consistently accruing national and international accolades for its innovative seasonal menu, impeccable service and unforgettable culinary experience.
