VILA VITA Parc´s two-starred Michelin restaurant, Ocean, won for the fifth consecutive time the Golden Fork awarded by Boa Cama Boa Mesa 2016 Guide, whilst the resort took home another Golden Key award.
The prizes are awarded annually by the national newspaper Expresso, who edits the guide, and recognize the 26 best hotels and 26 best restaurants in Portugal. Presently, there are 25 Golden Keys and one Platinum Key awarded to hotels throughout the country, as well as 25 Golden Forks and one Platinum Fork awarded to restaurants.
VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa was the grand winner of the Platinum Key last year, as well as the first time winner of the Sustainability Award, presented by the same guide in partnership with Sociedade Ponto Verde.
In 2011, after winning its second Michelin star, Ocean received the Platinum Fork, the highest recognition and, in 2012, Executive Chef Hans Neuner was distinguished with Chef of the Year, year in which this category was inaugurated.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday, 22nd March, at Espaço dos Montes Claros, in Lisbon, and was presided by Pinto Balsemão, president of the Grupo Impresa, owner of Expresso newspaper.
