Nobel International School Algarve hosted its annual Christmas Bazaar on the 11th November, attracting more than 200 visitors and raising £3,280 for local children´s charities.
The Bazaar takes over the school´s inner courtyard, turning it into a Christmas market with stalls, food and drinks and traditional fairground games such as Tin Can Alley and Welly Throwing, and a bouncy castle proved very popular.
This year´s grand raffle included very generous prizes from Martinhal, Apolónia, MacDonald Monchique, Quinta dos Vales wine estate, Amendoeira Golf Resort, Diamond Properties, Taste Carvoeiro, and other local businesses. Father Christmas drew the Raffle with the help of a NISA primary school pupil.
Inside the Hall, visitors could sample a Thai shoulder and neck massage, taste brownies and Christmas cake, locally produced insect-repellent and skin care, and have a go on the bottle tombola or purchase Christmas gifts.
Father Christmas arrived to a crowd of cheering children, throwing sweets out of an open-top car on his way to his grotto, where children could meet him and have their photograph taken.
Organiser and Head of Primary International Section Pennie Best said: “It is always a brilliant day for families to come along to. With the support of stall holders, teachers, parents and our lovely children, many of whom put great effort into producing gifts to sell, we were able to raise a substantial amount of money and we will now distribute this amongst local children´s charities.”
The school´s Lagos Primary site, near Espiche, holds its annual Christmas Bonanza on Saturday 9th December, from 4pm –-10pm, with Rudolf Rides, Kids´Disco, Santa´s Grotto, Snow Machine, mulled wine and hot food, and the chance to listen to the Western Algarve Choir.
