Charity Event is a rocking success!

Charity Event for AAAAIt was a night to remember at Restaurante Brasas e Vinhos in Almancil on Saturday 15th February. One of the Algarve Rock Choir’s lead singers, Julia Hammond, organised a charity evening to raise funds for the Associação dos Amigos dos Animais Abandonados de Loulé (AAAA), perhaps better known as the San Francisco Kennel. The restaurant provided a buffet and the Algarve Rock Choir provided the entertainment which resulted €5,000 being raised!

Julia Hammond with Lilo Clauberg-Kranendonk, President of AAAAI am always overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of the Algarve and beyond” said Lilo Clauberg-Kranendonk, President of AAAA. “We rely totally on charity and without the help of people like Julia and the many others who spend their time organising events to raise funds for us, we would not be able to continue taking care of all the animals we have at the Canil.
Currently we are caring for more than 400 dogs, cats and donkeys."

"I am also grateful to Howard Parkin and the Rock Choir and Band for putting on such a fantastic free show and to the people who donated raffle prizes and gifts for the auction. It couldn’t have come at a better time for us. On Wednesday 18th February, we celebrated our 31st Anniversary.

The money that was raised will be used towards paying veterinary and food expenses, always an ongoing problem for Lilo and her team of helpers.
