The Charity Golf Tournament for Somos Esperanca on the 26th of January at the Castro Marim Golf Club was a great success, participating players living in the Algarve from the US, Canada,Belgium, Holland,Sweden, Ireland and Germany.
Team Canada, US, Belgium won the the first prize sponsored by the Real Marina Hotel in Olhão.
Second prize went to team Ireland, Sweden, Germany, sponsored by Zitauto. The longest drive winner was Mick Priestley and the nearest the pin winner was Ruud Bartijn.
Further generous sponsors with cash and non-cash donations included Sovipral Wines, Top Marques Real Estate, Mar Morto- Salinas do Grelha, Henriques Properties and Cha Cha Cha Restaurant, all locally based companies from Olhão.
The overall fundraising target was met, with generous payments from sponsors, friends of Olhao, registration fees from participants and even some unexpected anonymous donations..
Event organiser, James Monahan said, "We hope to have an even bigger event at the beginning of 2025!"
