Afpop East Algarve organised a Halloween Wine Tasting Dinner at Octant Vila Monte Hotel to raise funds for StreetLife, a sterilisation programme for dogs that covers all of the Sotavento Area, which includes Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Sao Bras de Alportel, Tavira, Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo Antonio.
99 wine-loving afpop members, StreetLife supporters and other guests attended the evening; some getting into the spirit of Halloween by dressing up for the occasion with the odd spider or two in their hair or with face painting and masks.
Jorgina Quintela from winemaker Rozes (www.rozes.pt ) provided the wines for the tasting and thanks also go to João Martin for coordinating the wine delivery.

Funds raised from the evening will go towards the StreetLife BE WISE - STERILISE Campaign, offering free sterilisations to families on low income (subject to approval from StreetLife) during November 2024.
StreetLife is an independent non-profit association, funded entirely by donations. Over the last seven years, StreetLife has sterilised over 1200 dogs, helping to reduce the number of unwanted puppies & strays in the East Algarve / Sotavento Area. StreetLife supports families on low incomes to get their dogs sterilised and also works with six Partner Shelters helping them to sterilise the strays they have rescued prior to hopefully being rehomed. StreetLife works with eleven Partner Vets across the Sotavento Area plus a group of StreetEyes who help find families who may need help.
