A very big thank you to everyone who supported this years Backpack Drive for children returning to school. The calls of help for backpack donations from organisations across the Algarve were answered with record support of the campaign, now in its 7th year.
A total of 318 backpacks and Gym bags were delivered to Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves, The Peta Birch Community Association, the Bom Samaritano Children's Home in Alvor and schools in the East Algarve.
Special thanks must be made to the Congregrations at Praia da Luz Church and St. Lukes in Gorjões who collected a huge total to purchase backpacks and gym bags.
A special thank you also to Elspeth Flood in the East Algarve, who co-ordinated a very generous donation.
The success of this years Backpack Drive could not have happened without the support of The Golf Shack / Absolute Zero in Alcantarilha who co-ordinated the campaign from start to finish.
