The official charity chosen for the 2013 Portugal Masters played at Vilamoura from October 10-13 was ACCA. The event raised a huge €31,782 !!! This was an amazing result for ACCA, who help children in need in throughout the Algarve.
The first day was a Pro-am, the 40 European Tour professionals generously donate their €100 match fee to ACCA making €4,000. The Players Tour Foundation (PTF) matched this, making the total €8,000.
The next days were amazing, all the spectators were very generous giving a minimum of €4 for the Official Programme and daily draw sheets. Some very generous individual donations were also given throughout the week.
The total raised was €15.891 including the Players Pro-am fee, the tour then matched this making the final total of €31,782.
"The grand total raised will make a substantial difference in the lives of the children which ACCA cares for and supports. This final figure has surpassed all our expectation and we would like to thank everyone for all the support. Also a big thank you to all the Volunteers, we all had a great time. We will use the money wisely as always, and will let everyone know how we spend the money in due course."
