On July 14th, the Sê Mais Sê Melhor Youth Association and the Algarve Regional Management of IPDJ (Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth) join efforts yet again to celebrate the World Youth Skills Day, with the 2023 edition of "Youth Talks", a space for young people to challenge themselves and show the world their skills.
The World Youth Skills Day is celebrated annually on the 15th of July with the aim of highlighting the skills of youth and their importance in the world, as well as to encourage reflection on the way to achieve better socio-economic conditions for young people, thus helping them to face the challenges of unemployment and other factors of vulnerability to which they are often exposed.
With the purpose of putting young skills in the spotlight, on July 14, the Sê Mais Sê Melhor Youth Association, through the #StandOut Project, in partnership with the Algarve Regional Management of IPDJ - Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth, will boost the event "Youth Talks".
It will be in IPDJ (located in Rua da PSP, in Faro) that from 6pm all young people will have a moment to talk about what they like, things they like to do or what they learned from a particular experience. The initiative is intended to be informal, a space for good humour - where, free of charge, anyone between the ages of 12 and 30 can challenge themselves and show the world their skills. Participants are only asked to build a 5-minute presentation, which can be an exhibition and/or a more dynamic format (for example, through a performance) and through which they can show their competence, whatever it may be.
Whether you wish to participate or attend the event, registration is required through the form available at https://forms.gle/Y8QJWwGaiR99u8cu9, until 10th July 2023.
