Walking Football is becoming very popular in the Algarve, with both men's and women's teams. It is perfect for people aged between 50 and 80 who want to play a sport without injuring themselves.
Many people remain sedentary without realising that there is a sporting activity that anyone can take part in and you don't need to have any experience or have played football before.
In Walking Football it is forbidden to run or have any contact with the other players. This is for safety reasons, so that there are no physical injuries. The playing time is also shorter, from 10 to 15 minutes.
Announcement: On 14th November there will be a friendly match against East Algarve side Andorinhas at the Quarteira Municipal Stadium. Anyone interested can come along and watch the training session, and match starting at 9am.
HotShots are a lively group of about 15 women, residents of Quarteira, Loulé and Vilamoura, and we met because of this sport. The team train on Mondays and Thursdays at 9am at Quarteira Municipal Stadium nr 2. All women aged 50 and over are welcome, for a try-out and a coffee after training.
Central Algarve HotShots is located in Quarteira/Vilamoura, and East Algarve Andorinhas is located in Olhão.
It's not only healthy, but it increases your circle of friendships and social life.
