On Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, there will be a Catholic Mass in English at 10:30 AM at the Igreja de Santiago in Tavira, East Algarve. Music and singing will be included.
This is currently the only English-speaking Catholic Christmas Day service in the East Algarve - a unique opportunity for anglophone residents or tourists who wish to celebrate Mass in their own language on this special day.
The parish of Tavira is home to a growing English-speaking community of Roman Catholics from all over the world, including North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and continental Europe.
English Masses are celebrated every Sunday at 10:30 AM (in addition to other holy days such as Christmas Day), with an average of 50 people attending each week.
The community extends a warm welcome to everyone this Christmas, including those who are not Catholic or Christian.
