Synonymous with the Algarve coast – Gregory Mason paints dramatic sea and sky-scapes. A prize-winning artist at the ‘Applied Art Open Exhibition’ in the UK, his work can be seen exclusively in Portugal at Galeria Côrte-Real near Paderne.
A graduate of St Martin’s College, London his compositions resonate with classical traditions, painting figurative landscapes in oil. Noticeably a sense of grand scale predominates challenging the viewer’s understanding of space. Rhythms of light and patterns of texture as seen in the sky and on the sea typify his atmospheric paintings.
Especially selected by the gallery’s owners, Pedro Côrte-Real comments that Gregory Mason’s work has, “an inspirational flow of bold confidence. We are delighted to be able to represent him at Côrte-Real”.
