Her Excellency Orla Tunney, Irish Ambassador to Portugal, visited the Algarve last weekend with her husband and children.
On Saturday 3 September the Ambassador and her husband attended the St Patrick'0s Society End of Summer Party to enjoy an evening with Society members and their friends.

Ms Tunney is a career diplomat since 1992.
Before her assignment to Portugal and secondary accreditation to Morocco, she fulfilled a number of Corporate Services roles for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Dublin.
She has also served as Director for relations with the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and Director for British-Irish relations.
She was Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland in Canberra from August 2008 to August 2012, dealing also with Ireland’s relations with New Zealand.
From August 2004-August 2008, she was engaged in the Northern Ireland Peace Process, working mainly on stakeholder engagement and dealing with the legacy of conflict.
Between August 2000 and July 2004, she was posted to Ireland’s Permanent Representation to the European Union, specialising in European Security and Defence Policy.
From November 1997 to July 2000, she was seconded to the Department of the Taoiseach (Prime Minister), dealing with international affairs outside of the EU.
She served at the Embassy of Ireland in Tokyo from 1994 to 1997.
Her first assignment was in a trade support role at headquarters, and included a short secondment to the then Department of Tourism and Trade.
Ms Tunney completed a double major in International marketing and languages at Dublin City University, and spent her Erasmus year at the University of Dortmund, Germany.
She is married to Dr Bruce McIntosh, and they have three daughters.
