If doubts still existed regarding the quality of Portuguese wines, the growing international recognition would be more than enough proof that the national wine production is in excellent health.
To this day, Quinta de São Francisco has accumulated more than 60 medals, 20 of them gold. But this year it went even further: the 2014 harvest won a double gold medal thanks to its 98/100 points achievement at the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest and most prestigious wine competition in the United States, the first DOC Óbidos wine to obtain 98 points in this international competition.
Quinta de S. Francisco wine has always been the best-selling DOC Óbidos in Portugal as well as in export markets.
In order to celebrate this recent and important recognition, but also to remember an excellence that is already behind us, a vertical wine test Quinta de São Francisco will be held on October 12th 2017, at 5pm, at Quinta do Sanguinhal, which will include 5 harvests of the last three decades of a story that can only fill with pride all those who have contributed to making these awards a reality.
This is the case of winemaker Miguel Móteo, who will be present to guide the participating press throughout this commemorative event. We will also take advantage of the opportunity to make known the rest of the Quinta de São Francisco range, namely liqueur wines, spirits and late harvest also awarded internationally with gold medals.

The "Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal" was founded by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the 20's of the last century. It has a unique history in the winemaking tradition - both in the production and the commercialization of wines - anchored in 3 farms: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras and Quinta de São Francisco.
