Friends and family, and now the police, are searching for Jon Anderson Edwards, a Scot recently arrived in the Algarve who was staying in Lagos. Jon also legitimately goes under the name Jon Anderson Balion and hails from Arbroath.
Jon has not been seen or heard of since September 15 and his mobile phone, passport and personal belongings were found in his shared apartment. His family are desperate for information.
The Resident contacted the police authorities in Lagos and a reporter was informed that a multi-force investigation is underway involving the Lagos PSP, the Polícia Judiciária and the GNR.
Speaking to the Resident today, Jon’s mother Lesley Edwards says she is extremely worried about her son, has notified the Scottish police and flew to the Algarve on Friday morning.
Lagos businessman Dago Lipke, owner of the Rockfood café in Lagos where Jon had been working, said that he had alerted the police on September 19 as Jon had not been at work, nor was he in the apartment he shared.
Jon had told Lipke that he had hit his head after falling when coming back from a party but did not want to go to hospital. His room mate saw him on the following morning but by the evening (Sunday, September 14) he was gone.
If anyone has seen Jon or has any information about his whereabouts please contact the PSP in Lagos: 282762930
