A local boy from Burgau, was part of the team representing Portugal in the 28th World Shore Angling Championships last week. Portugal sent one team for the Under 16’ s and one team for the under 21’s to the event in Terracina, Sabaudia and Latina, Italy.
Lourenco Martins aged 12, was the youngest of the team of six representing Portugal in the Under 16’ s who came 4th place in the championships. He is part of the “Clube Naval, Portimão” and he has enjoyed competitions with them for 3 years. He was very proud to represent his country. A team of six Under 21's also represented Portugal, taking 3rd place.
The competition was for Shore Angling held on three different beaches, Subaudia, Terracina and Latina, about an hour away from Rome, a beautiful coastal area.
