Early morning walkers have been alerted to the possibility of finding more consignments of hashish washed up on beaches in the central Algarve.
The GNR already has collected more than 100 kilos between last Thursday and Saturday.
According to the Olhão coastal command, the well-wrapped drugs have been recovered in the sea and on beaches in a 20 kilometre radius from Albufeira.
The three bales so far recovered have enough hashish for around 200,000 joints and surveillance along the coast continues with patrols on the lookout for more.
Bruno Cordeiro, the Olhão commander, said the fist bale was found 3 miles offshore by a skipper on Thursday.
The next day morning, the GNR discovered another bale on Galé Beach.
The third burden was found by the authorities on Saturday morning on the Rocha Baixinha beach, 13 kilometres east of Albufeira.
