Olhão drug grower to be shipped back from Spain

cannabisThe drug grower and distributor who escaped the clutches of the police in Olhao back in September has been arrested in Spain

The Dutch national had taken over a warehouse on the outskirts of the city and turned it into an impressive cannabis production facility.

The police were alerted and after the usual period of surveillance, swooped and arrested three Portuguese workers but the Dutchman, aged 39, fled the country, but not far enough it seems.

House searches and arrests followed the Auguest 30th warehouse bust. Police logged 366 healthy cannabis plants, drugs and drug-dealing paraphernalia all of which were confiscated.

A  European arrest warrant was issued after a request by Faro criminal investigators. This led to the apprehension of the Dutch national who is being shipped back to Portugal to face charges.

The police shut down the cannabis warehouse in the industrial zone of Olhão and said the drugs were intended for the national and Spanish markets and that the Dutchman was the man in charge of the network.
