Six Algarve villages are lined up for inclusion in the ‘Seven Wonders of Portugal’ competition.
Cachopo, Paderne, Bordeira, Estoi, Ferragudo and Alte are among the 49 pre-finalists of the 'Seven Wonders of Portugal - Villages' competition.
Cachopo and Paderne are in the ‘rural villages’ category; Bordeira is in ‘village in a protected areas’ section; Estoi is a candidate for ‘village with a national monument'; Ferragudo is a ‘seaside village’ entrant and Alte is in the ‘authentic village’ list.
We now have to wait until July 9th after which it is possible to vote by telephone until August 20th.
The pre-finalists will be presented in seven special programmes to be transmitted live on RTP 1, after which the shortlist gets shorter and 14 villages will go into the final selection which will be announced on August 20th.
The vote for the final selection is between August 27th and the Finalists’ Gala on September 3, 2017.
