British stand-up paddleboarders rescued off Sagres

sagreslifeboatThree British stand-up paddleboarders were unable to get back to shore on their own and had to be rescued by the Sagres lifeboat.

The paddleboarders, females aged between 20 and 30 and caught out by adverse winds and currents, called for help.

The Lagos port captain and the local Maritime Police commander coordinated the rescue of the fatigued women by summoning the lifeboat to pick them up from the sea off Beliche beach, Sagres.

The call for help was received at about 2:30 pm on Sunday and the Sagres lifeboat immediately was scrambled.

The Britons were rescued and taken to Beliche beach, tired, cold but requiring no medical attention.
