A 39-year-old woman driver died after her car had a head-on collision with a lorry on the road between Silves and Messines.The accident happened this afternoon at Corte, on the EN124.
The woman’s one-year-old baby daughter also was in the car and survived but has suffered serious injuries.
The collision happened just after 4.30pm this afternoon.
The woman still had faint signs of life when the Messines Bomberios arrived but she did not survive and died at the scene, despite the attentions of an INEM emergency medical team.
The baby girl was transported to Faro hospital for treatment.
