The Irish airline's chief executive said on Tuesday that Portugal and Ireland remain the main problems for the company and predicted the cancellation of flights from Portugal and Ireland over the Easter period, possibly stretching into the summer."We are very close to concluding the agreements (with the unions) in Spain and Italy and we hope they will be finalised next month," Michael O'Leary told a conference in Brussels today.
According to the head of the airline, Portugal and Ireland remain the main problems for the company, "But we are not making so much progress in other countries, especially in Ireland and Portugal. We anticipate some problems, possibly during Easter and during the summer period."
Ryanair's cabin crew union has announced that its members will go on strike on March 29, April 1 and 4, to support demands for compliance with labour laws.
The National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC) indicates that the strike will be on all flights, the hours will be between 00:00 and 23:59 on the days in question. The strike will also disrupt other services, such as "assistance or any task on the ground.”
