SEF announces strike from Tuesday

SEFThe Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) has announced a strike from Tuesday, March 27, until Thursday, March 29, in protest against the "chaotic situation" that exists in the service.

The strike information was announced by Sinsef - the Union of Employees of the SEF - which accuses management of "absurd administrative policies."

SEF staff members are concerned about the service, especially internal security as well as its international public image.

The union again is putting forward simple but essential demands, including career recognition, and is striking for the second time within the past six months.

It can not be predicted how the strike will affect the smooth running of Portugal’s airports which are preparing for a busy week prior to the Easter break.
