Monday’s strike by rail workers will be widespread as there is no provision for the skeleton service usually left in place.
A tribunal decided that no bvasic service was required as the strike is for one day only and alternative forms of transport will be operating.
Infraestruturas de Portugal said there is a distinct possibility of there being "serious disturbances" on the railways on Monday.
Comboios de Portugal commented that, due to the strike, called by several unions, the public can expect cancellations on all lines on April 2nd.
The railway company stated that "alternative transport will not be made available" and reminds passengers that no minimum services will be available.
For customers who already have tickets for Alfa Pendular, Intercity and Regional services that are cancelled, CP will issue a refund of the total amount, or passengers can swap to another travel date, free of charge.
Rail workers have demanded wage increases, frozen since 2009, the unlocking of negotiations with management and accuse the company of having made salary cuts in recent years.
Last Thursday, about two dozen union representatives demonstrated outside the official residence of the prime minister to demand salary increases and the unlocking of negotiations.
