An 18-month-old toddler, born in Portugal of British parents, fell from a second floor window of an apartment building in Lagos on Saturday morning.The boy is in a serious condition with head injuries and was rushed to Portimão hospital by a Bombeiros team.
The alert was given at around 9.30 a.m.
Police were soon on the scene to ascertain the circumstances of the fall. It is known that the boy had been at home with his parents.
According to a source at the Faro District Operations Command, six vehicles attended the scene, variously from the Lagos Bombeiros, the National Emergency Medical Institute and the Public Security Police.
The toddler later was taken the pediatric intensive care unit at Faro Hospital, where his clinical situation is serious and the prognosis is "reserved".
