The Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, confirmed today in Berlin that, by the end of March, Portugal will have a national Film Commission, which will pitch the country as a destination for filming.
"This is one of the pieces of a broader model that leads to the creation of the Film Commission along with the simplification and modernisation of procedures to film in Portugal," said Graça Fonseca.
The Minister of Culture stressed that "the Film Commission is almost complete" with just a few details to finalise.
"The goal is to have a strong 'Film Commission' in Portugal that allows us, on the one hand, to pitch the country as a destination for filming, with all that this means for the technicians, actors and national producers, but also the positioning of Portuguese cinema internationally with all that this means for a positive impact for the sector and its agents," said Fonseca.
