After six days of searching, authorities continue to search for 93-year-old Maria Idalina Viegas, who disappeared on the afternoon of March 18th.
Despite the countless efforts and all the means placed on the ground, "it has not yet been possible to find our fellow countrywoman Maria Adelina Viegas, 93, from Cova da Muda, who has been missing since the afternoon of last Thursday, March 18th ".
The Câmara of São Brás has appealed "to the whole community to send all the information, which may be relevant in this search operation, to GNR, via the telephone 289 840 800 or to the Municipal Social Services through via telephone 289 840 020 or email solidariedade@cm-sbras.pt ".
"if you are in good physical condition, enough to help in the field searches and would like to help, please contact 289 840 800 for information".
The operation, coordinated by the Faro Territorial GNR, currently includes 15 staff from GNR - members of the Cinotechnical Intervention Group of the Lisbon Intervention Unit; the Emergency, Protection and Relief Unit and the Territorial Department of Faro - supported by 6 vehicles and various members of the São Brás de Alportel Volunteer Firefighters and the Municipal Civil Protection Service.
On behalf of the community, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel reinforces "huge gratitude for all the continued effort of the soldiers of the various GNR teams, elements of the Volunteer Firefighters; workers of the municipality and all the volunteers of the community".
