The official launch of the documentary “Caminho dos Promontórios” will take place at Largo do Forte de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, in Carvoeiro, on the 25th of June, at 9.30 pm, as part of the celebrations for the Centenary of Alfanzina Lighthouse.
The documentary “ Caminha dos Promontórios ” is the account of a walk led by “Caminhante” along a stretch of the coast of Lagoa.
The walker's tour begins in autumn and crosses the four seasons of the year, to promote the natural, historical-cultural and scenic values that characterise these seven kilometers of the county's west coast.
The Lighthouse keeper, the Friend of the Walker, the Passeante, the Archaeologist, the Biologist, the Geographer and the Fisherman help the protagonist to learn more about the territory traversed by this route. Finally, the walker discovers that there is more than one way to travel the Way of the Promontories.
Access is free but subject to seating capacity. The documentary will be premiered simultaneously on communication channels and social networks in the municipality of Lagoa.
Also part of the centenary celebrations, on Saturday, June 26, at 5 pm, there will be the guided walk “Entre Faroes”, which will take participants from Ponta do Altar Lighthouse to Alfanzina Lighthouse.
Participation is free, but limited to 24 participants, and requires registration, which can be done by clicking here.
The route is linear and has an estimated duration of 3h30 to 4 hours. There are stops along the way for brief explanations about the landscape (geoforms, built heritage, fauna and flora).
