More than 100,000 more people were vaccinated in Portugal against Covid-19 this weekend, of which more than 80,000 are young people between 12 and 17 years old, according to official data.
The coordination of the national vaccination operation against Covid-19 announced on Friday that from that day on, people could be vaccinated at any vaccination centre in mainland Portugal as long as they obtain a digital password for the "Open House" modality ( without self-scheduling appointment).
It is also now possible to choose the vaccination centre to take the second dose of the vaccine, but this option has to be made on the day the first dose is received.
According to the most recent vaccination report by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Portugal has 72% of the resident population with a complete vaccination course and 80% with at least one dose of the vaccine.
In Portugal, since March 2020, 17,721 people have died and 1,034,947 cases of infection have been recorded, according to updated data from the DGS.
