The 2 seater electric Citroën AMI, which is now on sale in Portugal, can be driven in Portugal by persons over 16 years old, with a category B1 license. At between 7,350 and 8,710 euros, it can be purchased online at Citroën dealerships and at the participating FNAC stores nationwide.
This small electric car guarantees an autonomy of 75 kilometers, a distance perfectly adapted to short urban and suburban journeys and well above the average distance travelled daily by many thousands of Portuguese for appointments, work, events , leisure, etc.
The 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, which recharges in just three hours, uses a standard 220 V electrical socket and on-board cable.
The 6 kW engine allows a speed of 45 km/h.
This vehicle was designed, according to the French construction company, for driving in urban areas, due to its ultra-compact dimensions: 2.41 metres long, 1.39 m wide and 1.52 m high.
Its dimensions combined with its 7.20 meter turning diameter simplify moving and parking. Its 14-inch wheels, of specific design, placed right at the ends of the bodywork, also contribute to an exceptional ease of manoeuvring.
The two seats are offset to provide more space for the occupants, both in terms of shoulders and legs, and greater freedom of movement.
Unique in its kind and designed as a real alternative to public transport (bus, tram, metro) and other individual means of transport with 2 or 3 wheels (bicycles, scooters or scooters), the AMI has another real advantage for the driver and passenger: greater protection than these 2 or 3 wheel vehicles, as well as independence and comfort superior to that of any public transport.
Citroën believes that the AMI has everything to become "popular".
