Paula Fatri and her 12-year-old daughter have been on the run for over a month. The father wants Vera to be vaccinated against Covid-19, the mother and daughter do not want to, so they went underground.
The mother and daughter fear that the father will force Vera to be vaccinated . “We no longer have a life of our own, so I had no alternative”, tells the mother, Paula Fatri, to “Correio da Manhã” . The case went to court, after both were heard by the Commission for the Protection of Minors.
“My daughter's father wants to force her to be vaccinated and I won't allow it” , continues the mother. The decision is now in the hands of a judge: the mother's lawyer believes that, as the vaccine is not mandatory, the magistrate will decide in favour of the mother.
Paula Fatri explains that her daughter “has all her other child vaccines up to date., but in this case, from everything I've read, I know that the risks, if taken, are greater than the benefits. There is no doctor who guarantees that everything will be fine”.
The daughter doesn't want to be vaccinated either, but says the father will make her. The two have been staying at friends' houses and local lodgings.
