The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere have placed the districts of Setúbal, Beja and Faro under yellow warning today, in effect between 14:00 and 18:00, due to the forecast of showers, which can be locally strong and accompanied by thunderstorms.
The IPMA also announced that 13 districts of mainland Portugal, including Faro, will be under yellow warning tomorrow/Thursday. The districts of Aveiro, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Lisbon, Portalegre, Évora, Beja, Setúbal and Faro will be under yellow warning due to the forecast of rain, sometimes heavy, which can occasionally be hail and accompanied by strong gusts, and frequent and scattered thunderstorms.
According to the IPMA, the yellow warning for those 13 districts will be in effect between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm on Thursday.
The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
