Yesterday afternoon, a German woman was rescued by onlookers after being at risk of drowning, on the unguarded Falésia beach in Albufeira.
After the alert at 12:15, informing that an unconscious woman was in the water, an Amarok vehicle from the "SeaWatch" project, INEM and the Albufeira Voluntary Fire Department were all immediately activated.
According to the Albufeira Maritime Police, initially rescued from the water and brought on to the beach by local people who were nearby, the victim was then assisted on the spot by INEM and by the Fire Department of Albufeira, using oxygen therapy.
After regaining consciousness and being of a stable condition, the victim was then transported to a local hospital unit to be checked over.
