Lisbon and Albufeira are number one ad two top destinations for Easter holidaymakers from within Portugal and from abroad.
The analysis released by travel website Trivago is based on its site users with inbound foreigners preferring, in order, Lisbon, Albufeira, Oporto, Funchal, and Vilamoura. Portuguese travellers are heading for Lisbon, Albufeira, London, Paris and Madrid.
With regard to average prices paid, the Portuguese are set to spend €105 per night, incoming Spaniards expect to shell out €100, our Greek friends €102, and the British and Italians are willing to pay above €120.
The noble Norwegians are bringing in the most money with a spend of €144 on average per night for a double room.
The Algarve is clearly the most popular region in Portugal for foreign Easter tourists with 6 of the 10 most popular destinations situated on the south coast of Portugal, namely - Albufeira, Vilamoura, Portimão, Lagos, Carvoeiro and Faro.
The favorite Algarve destination in Portugal, Albufeira, is the most competitive with an average booking of €72,65 per double room, beaten by the cheap north with Oporto at a winning average booking of rate of €66.54 per double room per night.
The Portuguese capital will be raking in an average of €113 per night over the Easter break.
Well-heeled Cascais tops the list at €129 per room per night.
