A crew member of a fishing vessel who was suffering severe chest pain was rescued earlier this morning by the Sagres Lifeguard Station, about three nautical miles (approximately five kilometres) from Cabo de São Vicente, in Vila do Bispo.
According to the National Maritime Authority in a statement, the alert was given at 9:20 am, from a crew member of the same vessel.
After being rescued, the man was taken to the port of Baleeira in Sagres, where the Bombeiros of Vila do Bispo and INEM were waiting, to transported the victim to hospital.
