The Union Association of Police Professionals (ASPP / PSP) began several protest actions today, to demonstrate "dissatisfaction with policies that have not responded to the serious problems that affect the PSP and internal security".
The protests will last until Monday and will take place in various areas of the country, with a concentration of police taking place today in front of the District Command of the Public Security Police of Faro.
According to the ASPP, the police officers' main complaints are low salaries, pre-retirement, lack of attractiveness of the profession and the health subsystem.
The various actions to contest “the policies of this (dis)government” will take place on Friday in front of the Metropolitan Command of the PSP in Porto, on Saturday with a concentration in the Almoinha Grande garden, in Leiria, and will end on Monday.
ASPP leaders have also scheduled a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs, José Luís Carneiro, for this Thursday, after having made a request for a meeting.
