Vila Real de Santo António City Council have begun their 'Pavimenta VRSA' program to resurface municipal roads, with a total investment amounts to 1.5 million euros.
In a statement, the Municipality says that the work will be carried out between 2024 and 2025, "and aims to correct the severe state of degradation of many arteries in the municipality, across all parishes in the municipality".
In total, around 44,000m2 of roads will be repaired throughout the are during this time.
Currently, resurfacing works are underway at the entrance to the city of VRSA, on Av. dos Firefighters Portugueses, Av. Fernando Salgueiro Maia and Rotunda do Encalhe.
In the coming months, the works will extend to the VRSA industrial zone, the Monte Fino subdivision, Avenida Infante D. Henrique (Monte Gordo), Avenida Manuel G. Rosa Mendes (Cacela) and others streets in the parish of Vila Nova de Cacela.
