The course in Portuguese took place between February 12th and May 8th under the "Algarve - Safe Destination" programme in cooperation with the Deaf Association.
"This training course fulfilled the initial goals and endows the police with a knowledge of sign language, aiming to improve communication, interaction and to offer a quality service to the deaf community," say the PSP Command which intends to continue the partnership in the near future and train more police.
