Google, Delta and Nestlé are the companies and brands with the best reputation in Portugal.
The ranking comes from the RepTrak Pulse 2014 study which annually assesses the level of trust, esteem, admiration and respect from the public for the country’s brand leaders.
Although the first being occupied by a foreign company, there are nine Portuguese companies in the Top 20.
In the 'Top 10’ there are six Portuguese companies - Delta, Renova, Sumol Compal, Luso, Vista Alegre and RFM. Joining them in the ‘Top 20’ are Super Bock, Pingo Doce and TAP at number 20.
The tracking study identifies an increase in the average reputation for the first time in the past two years to 66.46 on a scale of 100 points.
"This year's study shows that the crisis and foreign intervention in the country were instrumental in assessing the reputation of companies operating in our market considering that 2012 and 2013 results showed a tendency to decrease companies’ reputation in Portugal. With the approaching end of external intervention, respondents' confidence increased and this factor was reflected in the results this year," explained Pedro Tavares from the Reputation Institute in Portugal .
In the 2014 study about 40,000 Portuguese citizens looked at over 170 companies and brands operating in Portugal.
