In response to official requests from the British authorities, Portugal’s Judicial Police today took the step of questioning four of the dozen people identified by Scotland Yard detectives as ‘persons of interest.’
The men, all Portuguese, are being questioned as part of Operation Grange, the wide-ranging enquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
South Wales Police today confirmed that two of its specialist search dogs and their handlers are back in Portugal and at short notice could be put to work as a result of any information from the interviews.
Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007 from an apartment at a tourist resort in Praia da Luz as her parents had dinner nearby.
