Valuables and computer equipment have been recovered by Loulé GNR and a man arrested for burglary and theft.
The 45-year old is being held in connection with a wider investigation into theft from properties in the Loulé area.
In today’s statement the GNR said they had been investigating these distressing crimes for five months and that the detainee has previous convictions for burglary and theft for which he already has served time in prison.
The police had warrants to search three houses and discovered firearms and tools that are used "in pursuit of illegal activities."
The GNR found ten watches, fake and real jewellery, two computer tablets, three cameras, two mobile phones, two iPods, a TV and an iPod docking station.
A second man was accused on suspicion of involvement in two local robberies.
